I am 23 and have oily skin. How often should i exfoliate and use face mask?Exfoliating and Face mask?
You need to cleanse morning and night. Exfoliate at least twice a week, maybe 3 times depending on the roughness of your exfoliator. If it's rougher, use it twice, but if it's gentle, you can use it up to three times a week. You should use a mask straight after exfoliating. Use a clay-based mask which will suck up the oil. Only use it once a week, as it can dry out your skin too much. If you're not getting the results you want, you can try it twice a week, but don't leave it on any longer than five minutes.
After you've taken off your mask and dried your skin, use a toner. You may be tempted to use an alcohol-based toner to dry out your skin, but that isn't always the best. A natural one like an aloe vera spritz works well, I use it and I have oily to combo skin. After you've used your toner, you need to moisturise. Use an oil-free lotion; a lotion will be thinner than a cream and your skin will absorb it easier.
Also, use a water-based eye cream to fight away any signs of premature aging! I know you're only young but you should start now. Don't use an anti-aging eye cream; Nivea Visage have an excellent Aqua Sensations eye cream which is designed for younger women who don't need to get rid of wrinkles, but want to prevent them. It's great!
I hope this helps. Good luck.Exfoliating and Face mask?
a oily skin with pimples and acnes- exfoliating can easily spread them more.so i would sugest not to.a face mask can be best atleast twice a week.
if you have a oily skin with no pimples and acnes.u could use a good exfoliator twice a week before u apply ur face mask.and dont forget to apply a alcohol-free toner.
2 times a week
The best product for most people with oily or problematic skin is Tea Tree Oil, in addition to washing with Castile Soap. Avoid anything with strong detergents, Sulfates, and other harsh skin irritating substances.
I recommend Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash, it does a magnificent job on problematic skin. Usually cleaning up blemishes with only a few days of use!
Remember, just because a soap is made out of oil, doesn't mean it will make your face oily. Soap by nature, is a derivative of oil! Some of the most potent real-soaps, are derived from oils, not just Castile.
Many modern day products CAUSE oily and problematic skin because they contain harsh chemicals and animal based fats that clog pores.
thrice a week
ONCE EVERY FOUR DAYS! firstly clean face with a cotton... dab it clean.. then massage it with a nice oil free cream for a while..scrub if applied directly can cause pimples...so after massaging apply scrub and scrub gently... then clean the face... take steam ...to remove excess oil from face... and finally apply a pack of neem or mud pack... onlce washed... apply the normal oil free moisturizer...this works wonder for oily skin!~
I would think that the gentle, regular cleaning of the face would keep the pores open and allow the oil to be removed more easily.
It is interesting how one person has oily skin, one dry, one neutral.
I will never figure it out.
You should probably keep your diet very healthy and low in oily foods.
Good Luck.
1st you need to find a daily routine that you can add into your lifestyle as just exfoliating and face mask wont really help as much as you want them to if you dint add in the rest. 1st you need to buy a cleanser, toner and moisturizer for an oily skin that's work for you. You need to try to add that into your lifestyle 1stly once a day then once you are used too it continually that twice daily, then you would need to add exfoliating into your routine butt you should only do this twice a week then face mask can be applied twice to maybe even 3times a week.
.
while oily skin or not u should probaly clean in the morning and afternoon, becuz during the day you have no idea how much gems and nasty stuff gets on your skin(alot). And washing ur face in the morning helps u wake up a little w/ the water splashing in ur face.A great produce i would recommed is ';Oil-Free Acne Wash(Neutrogena)'; its perfect for ya.remember moring and night. Try it!
twice a week
With oily, but clear skin I'd say just wash your face twice a day(if you can swing that, but at least once with facial soap that has benzoyl peroxide) and exfoliate and mask once a week, twice at the most.

Will exfoliating my dry skin on my FACE make it go away? yes or no?
i want to exfoliate the dry parts on my face, especially my chin!
can i do this?
will it help get rid of the flakes?
will it make me break out? Will exfoliating my dry skin on my FACE make it go away? yes or no?
DON't USE ST. IVES!!!! IT's CHEAP for a reason!!! The apricot seeds and walnut shells are WAY too harsh for your skin and make small nicks and cuts in your skin which causes bacteria to get in and cause breakouts or makes more flakes and scarring! Buff puffs are even worse! DON'T DO IT!
Me and my husband have been using Modern Friction from Origins for like 3 years. It's finely ground rice which will buff off the top laye of dead skin so when you put your moisturizer on, it just soaks right in. It is okay to use on really sensitive skin because it also has aloe and chamomile. This is sooo common in the winter when the moisture is just being sucked out of the air.
Also, invest in a HUMIDIFYER. I sleep with one constantly. This will put the moisture back in the air, and back in your skin. It's also good for your eyes which get dry in the winter too! Drink lots of water too!
Invest in the Modern Friction, its $36 and it lasts me and my husband about a year when using it correctly. Good luck!
I just saw someone suggested Glycolic Acid and they also asked about redness in the skin. Do no resort to Acids! They literally melt away the top layer of dead skin. Also after using any acids, you cant go in the sun (Vitamin C also will burn the skin more and the acids will exacerbate the damaging rays of the sun), your skin will be red and irritated for a couple days. Who wants that? Use a gentle face dermabrasion. You will see immediate results, and no thing harmful after! Will exfoliating my dry skin on my FACE make it go away? yes or no?
Exfoliating actually tends to dry out skin. It will rub off all the dead skin, though. So, I suggest exfoliating then putting on a ton of light moisturizer.
It shouldn't make you break out.

Please note this before exfoliating your skin:
1. Do you have any redning on your cheeks?
2.Do you have any large pores on your nose or cheeks?
It is very important to consider a non abrasive exfoliant made of glycolic acid.
When you do wash the exfoliant please do apply a soothing mask or a water based hydrating mask.
The exfoliated skin is a vulnerable skin. Please apply an oil free hyadrating mask to comfort the exfoliated area.
The break out are usually generated by rubbing the skin or applying an oil based scrub or mask.
this mite b weird but i used tape:) it works gud but dont rip it off too fast off ull lose a chunk ov skin lol,if u do lose a chunk ov skin go get sum guaze, dial(handsoap),and antibiotic cream wen ur new kin cums back(in like 1 day:-O) it will b smooth n soft :)
It'll help but just make sure it's not too abrasive.
Yes, moisturize too!
The best I've ever used was Dermalogica Daily Microfolient
DO NOT use Buff Puff! I've seen more pocked faces because of that! Ask any Dr.
It'll help remove the dead flaking skin but moisturizer is the only thing that'll really make it go away.
It gets rid of the flakes settled on your skin, prevent/create less breakouts, and you should moisturize right away right after and pat the moisturizer in.
It will help, unless you have a worse condition than dry skin.
Try Aapri or St Ives apricot scrub, twice a week.
Moisturize afterwards with a rich, non oil cream.
The rest of the time, use a face wash [ not a bar ], toner if necessary, sunscreen, and moisturizer for dry skin.
Be sure all products are non comedogenic [ doesn't cause pimples/breakouts ] and ideally for sensitive skin.
Wash, tone, and sunscreen in AM; wash, tone, and moisturize in PM.
Also: drink 1/2 gallon of water a day, and take vitamins with minerals.
Exfoliating your skin will take the dead flaky parts away, however, that is temporary. If you want to treat this the right way, you will use an intense, oil free moisturizer afterward. Not exactly heavy, probably a bottle from Neutrogena. This should not make you break out. Good exfoliators that aren't too pricey are either an apricot scrub from St. Ives or a Buff Puff.
Good Luck.

After exfoliating my face, what else do I need to do?
Moisturize, and leave it alone. After exfoliating my face, what else do I need to do?
Exfoliate first, then wash your face. If you was your face before exfoliating you're just cleaning dead skin that's going to come off anyway. After washing, moisturize.
Don't exfoliate every day, just once or twice a week. After exfoliating my face, what else do I need to do?
ummm... moisturize?

Is sugar with oil good to exfoliate face ?
Considering that i have a sensitive skin type?Is sugar with oil good to exfoliate face ?
I personally wouldn't want that on my skin. It sounds like a break out waiting to happen. Just look for a product that is for sensitive skin.Is sugar with oil good to exfoliate face ?
oil would make your face even more dirty.
Yes, it can remove the dead cells and makes it soft and glowing. Take a spoon of olive oil add some suger to it and massage it on your face in circular motion in upward direction (till the suger melts).
But there is a problem in this method, if you try this method over your palm or feet or hands then its OK. But if you use it over your face there is a risk, as the suger granules are little hard they may leave scars or wrinkles coz the skin on face is very sensitive. So you can substitute it with Honey, it has all the properties as suger, and more over its natural.
That is fine for your body but if you have sensitive skin you should really stick to products that you can purchase. Aveeno makes excellent products for sensitive skin and most brands have a sensitive skin line. Good luck!
I would not use any oil near my face to clog up my pores. Why not just purchase a gentle scrub for your face to exfoliate? Try St. Ives. They have one for sensitive skin.
yes u can use sugar but if ur skin is oily avoid the oil
It's best for sensitive skin to use a face cleanser that has gentle oats in it that mildly exfoliate skin. Wet the skin. Apply cleanser to your face in circular motions. Rinse with lukewarm water (it's not as harsh on the skin) and pat dry. Moisturize. If you have thick, oily skin, try this every other week. Wet your face, apply some moisturizing soap or liquid face cleanser, and rub gently. With a soapy face, apply sugar with gentle circular movements (mostly on the nose or where you have acne). Wash it off, dry it, and apply a moisturizing face cream. Do it at night, right before you go to sleep.
i dont know
It is great for the body but way too harsh for the delicate skin of the face. Purchase something suitable for the face or look up recipes on creating your own. People with sensitive skin should be especially careful about choosing exfoliators.
Only if you want to have a record case of acne.
Use an astringent like witchazel and then a credible moisturizer if your skin is that sensitive.
Try this sugar scrub. It is supposed to be very good for sensitive skin. Not sure where the recipe came from, but she's been using it for quite sometime now.
1 Tablespoon each of sugar, olive oil and honey.
Wet face, apply scrub by rubbing very gently in a circular motion. Remove with water with hands only.
i think a nice layer of sperm would do it =)
you can do baking soda n a cleanser....
No as it can be too scratchy. use one that is for the face only. Sugar and oil is OK for the body.
No, its not a good idea at all. Thats for lumpy celluite areas. If you want a home remedy -- try plain uncooked oats tied up in muslin and wet them. After your scrub -- sit back in a bath and apply a face mask made from either mashed avacado (dry skin) or strawberries (combo skin). Enjoy
Actually I have been told that sugar in the raw and olive oil exfoliate and soften your skin at the smae time. They (supposedly) replenish the oil level your skin needs to stay heathy while getting rid of the rough spots.
a lot of this is local lore though. Not sure how true it is because I've never needed it. If you do try it, please let us know.musicals

Johnson exfoliating face wash?
Hi ,
I have been using johnson's gentle exfoliating face wash for a week now.Once I wash my face with it, I apply cucumber moisturising cream (from jardine's).I can see that my face ha become bit darker now..Is it something I shouldn't use..Johnson exfoliating face wash?
As during exfoliating process dead cells are scrubbed to detach them from healthy skin.
By exfoliating very frequently you may be scrubbing healthy skin. So Use it less oftenJohnson exfoliating face wash?
what?
darker?
Oh god... dear me... no!
THE FACE WASH IS FINE, BUT USE A DIFFERENT MOISTURISER.
Stop using the product if you think it is causing your skin to go darker this is not a wonderful sign... Go to a doctor or dermotologist and get checked out...

Is exfoliating my face going to do anything about my acne?
Probably not Is exfoliating my face going to do anything about my acne?
It depends with what.
Just a simple scrub to remove dead skin will probably just irritate your skin if you use it too much. But if you use a scrub with acne medication in it (like Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Daily Scrub), the results will be much better! Is exfoliating my face going to do anything about my acne?
It will do if you do it long enough.
I know a chap who now has only one cheek. The other one just disappeared in his exfoliating cream.
He is still trying to get rid of the other as it is still covered in acne.
Just start washing your face with water only and your acne will probably dissapear altogether,,failing that use simple soap,,not perfumed, not coloured just kind
No but a paper bag over your head will!

I use an exfoliating wash every day, but I have oily skin, so it's okay for me. If you have dry or combination skin, you might want to use it only two or three times a week. The other times, use an oil free cream based face wash.
Those are meant to be used on a weekly basis. May dry out your skin otherwise.
I do. Once a day (at night). I've never looked better, lol.
Most scrubs are meant for sporadic use. Make sure that the one you use is gentle enough for daily use before you take to using it everyday.
everyday is not recommended but u should use also a cream(depending on your skin type) after that
yes it is, I do. Its one of the only ways I can keep my skin clear.
Generally, you don't have to exfoliate more than once or twice a week, but everybody has different skin and reacts differently to those products.
If you are getting good results, and your skin doesn't get too dried out or irritated, then keep going with it.
But if you seem to have small bumpy breakouts, really dry skin, or redness, then I would cut it down to once or twice a week.
If you have sensitive skin then I wouldent. Try it...if your skin feels fine then yes. I use exfoliant everyday and I dont have any problems....at all. In fact....my skin is very clear and vibrant.
