good luck! =)
Axe?
The face is sensitive, especially around the eye area.

You'd want to find a mild exfoliating cleanser, maybe one for break-out prone skin. I like Aveeno's cream cleanser...

What exfoliating does is remove all the old skin cells on the top of your skin to allow for the ';newer'; cells to shine through. Heavily exfoliating your skin would be disastrous for someone with problematic skin.

Exfoliators come in several different types. They are usually gel or creme based with small particles that do not break down or break down slowly in water. These act like little scrubbers on your face.

Apricot scrub is one of the more intense kinds, the exfoliants are ground up apricot seeds and are rather large. You'll notice if you use it that it's fairly scratchy in texture. Overexfoliation will cause excessive oil production in your skin from the irritation, making matters worse. Save the apricot stuff for your body versus your face for a good scrubdown.

You'll want to find a scrub that has little particles, which is why I suggested one for sensitive or acne prone skin. Salycylic acid will help resolve blemishes (it's found in quite a few exfoliators).

As for applying, wet your face rather liberally with warm (not hot, ever), water then apply the exfoliant in a circular motion. Pay decent attention to areas that could be missed...like the crease on the side of your nose and near the ear. Avoid the eye area altogether. Rinse with warm/cool water.

I don't recommend you exfoliate every day. Every other day or twice a week should do ya.

Happy scrubbing!
use a facial cleanser that exfoliates - i use st ives apricot scrub, inexpensive, and works great,i love it.also - moisturize after.
try neutrogena daily exfoliating cleanser. it gently exfoliates and deep cleans to reveal a fresh and healthy-looking skin. its skin smoothing microbeads gently removes dead surfaces skin cells that can give the complexion a dull, dry, and rough appearance. It works by removing dirt, oil and makeup and the skin feels fresh, clean and polished after that.
def use st. ives apricot scrub its an awesome exfoilient it totally works!!
You can save money by mixing your own exfoliate with salt, oil free lotion and water. Add it all together to the texture you want and scrub (GENTLY!) all over your face. Then rinse it all off and you're done! Then be sure and moisturize.
There are a couple different types of exfoliation...manual and chemical.

Manual: scrubs, exfoliating cloths, etc.

Chemical: AHA/BHA, certain toners, peels, etc.

I like chemical exfoliators. AHA's exfoliate the surface of your skin while BHA's clean out your pores. I use Olay Age Defying Renewal Cream with BHA. My skin has been great since I've started using this product.
