Is exfoliating your face important..?

In young people, the skin cells turn over quicky, and the skin exfoliates itself continually. As people get past their adolescence and are ';grown,'; even in the 20s, the skin renews itself more and more slowly, and it begins to need help removing the dead surface cells.

People with acne benefit from gentle exfoliating, regardless of their age, as acne is a result of a combination of things that plug the pores, including dead cells. Alpha hydroxy acid products help loosen those dead cells and oil plugs and so work well as an aide to exfoliation.

In young people, a soft cotton wash cloth with a facial cleanser is enough to buff away any superficial dead cells that haven't fallen off on their own yet. Cotton is important vs. cotton-poly blend, because polyester rubbed on skin creates irritation, like a rug burn. Stick with soft cotton. I use baby wash cloths for my own facial care.

After exfoliating, an oil free moisturizer puts a barrier between the environment and that smooth, fresh skin surface and helps it retain the moisture that makes it petal soft.Is exfoliating your face important..?
yes.....you need all that dead skin to come of your faceIs exfoliating your face important..?
It helps get rid of dead skin on the surface. Makes your skin look fresher and brighter. Not all people need to exfoliate, though. If you have very sensitive skin, it's better to skip any kind of harsh products like that.
For me it is important. My face looks so clear and refreshed after I exfoliate. I like to use dove nutrium soap or Cetaphil face wash and mix it with sugar until you get the consistency that you like and scrub small circles all over face and rinse with cool water. Ahhhhhhh so refreshing and renewed. Followed with mositurizer and in the morning your skin will be sooo pretty.
BAD!

it irritates that skin SOOOO much!

rarely, RARELY exfoliate your skin and if you do, very lightly.
It is, but you shouldn't use the harsh, grainy scrubs. Find something with ';beads'; or just a bit of salicylic acid. If you have flaky skin, use it 3 times a week. If your skin is normal, once a week is fine. I didn't start exfoliating till I hit 23 and my skin started looking dullish.
It depends because if you like your face to feel clean then yes...
